"The food program alone means everything to us. Most of us only get about $25–$35 a month in food stamps, so the donations end up being how many of us get by. When we go to the store, we always have to choose between what we need and what we want—and honestly, the “wants” usually don’t make the cut. But with the food programs at CLSN, we don’t have to choose like that anymore. Seniors love sweets, and the market gives us these amazing cakes and desserts that we’d never be able to get on our own. It feels like such a treat. It also means we can save our food stamps for the basics we really need, while still having something enjoyable from the market. It makes a huge difference in our day-to-day lives."

"The nutrition programs we receive here are incredibly important. The food program alone makes such a difference. I can’t drive anymore, so even getting to a grocery store has become a challenge. Everywhere else seems to charge for every little thing, but here, we don’t have to worry about food insecurity."

"I only receive $26 in food stamps because I supposedly make ‘too much.’ The groceries we get delivered take away the travel costs (Uber/Lyft), and without these programs, I honestly wouldn’t be able to afford food."
