CLSN recognizes the lifeline it provides to the residents who live in all eight of our affordable housing communities. It is because of the critical role that we play in the daily well-being of our seniors that our organization pivoted in order to accommodate the needs of the over 1,600 seniors living with during the pandemic.
The response has included:
Delivering our food programs directly to residents’ door to limit contact of resident to resident or staff to resident COVID transmission. This has made our programs more efficient and allows us to get the food out more quickly to more residents.
Partnering with our local community partners to bring all of their class offerings virtual including but not limited to: Virtual art classes with SPRATS, health living and eating with UNR Cooperative Extension, Fitness classes in our outdoor courtyards with residents spaced 10 feet apart and limited class sizes, take home activities and competitions which were displayed in common areas and judged with voting boxes versus larger gatherings.
Information distributed via door delivery of calendars, flyers and important health information.
Partnerships with local health groups like Dispatch Health to bring providers on site directly to the home for more minor medical events such as cold, UTI, COVID testing and more.
